This paper presents a wideband plate-monopole antenna with stop band, which is appropriate for the edge-mount on the ground-plane. Characteristics of the antenna are mainly analyzed by using the finite integration method. The simulated results show that the antenna has flat impedance characteristics over wide frequency band. When the antenna is operated only in the even mode, the wide impedance bandwidth covering from 3GHz to 10GHz is obtained, for the feeding impedance Z0=100 Ohm. When the antenna is operated with even and odd modes, wide frequency band with stop band due to the odd mode resonance, is obtained.
